Free Dungeon Master Training Program

Sign-up for our free Dungeon Master Training Program for Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition (5e)

Our Dungeon Master Training Program is a 2-3 hour hands-on training session where you run a mock game of D&D 5e with 1-2 other newbie DMs (Dungeon Master). An experienced DM is also present and creates “player simulations” to mimic what you’ll encounter in real games of D&D. The experienced DM will also provide guidance, answer questions, and give occasional advice. By the end, you will feel more confident in your abilities and have the skills necessary to start running D&D!

These events are posted on Meetup.com (find a group) and shared in the Discord server under the #upcoming-events channel. Simply RSVP for the event and follow the instructions in the description.

 

Event Format

2-3 newbie DMs will work together to run a game of D&D while an experienced DM guides them through the process. The experienced DM will create “player simulations” which mimic what you’ll encounter in real games. You will also have access to the story upfront to review.

Like all of our events, DM Trainings are open to everyone and designed to be welcoming and patient. We expect many newbie DMs to have very little experience with D&D. We will be there to guide you through the process and help you along whenever necessary.

 

Prerequisites

The only prerequisite to our training program is that you’ve played D&D at least 1-2 times before. This will ensure you have a fundamental understanding of how the game works. Outside of that, it is helpful to own the Player’s Handbook (PHB) and the Monster Manual (MM), but not required. You will also need to connect to our Discord server where the training takes place and have a working microphone (webcams are optional).
